Nearly every Sunday, the family would drive deep through the countryside to visit Meriwether County. Big Daddy’s farm was but a half mile walk to the Red Oak Creek and it’s old covered bridge. Walking across the weathered wooden slats reveals gaps to the creek below. The fresh cool smells of water permeate the air inside. The bridge spans more than a muddy river, it allows for the passage into a distant era, once time has done its necessary work upon memory and the imagination.
